THAT's not exactly true, though.  Several weeks or months before he 
disappeared, he appointed me Assistant Moderator.  And he even made a mention 
of it in the ELIST, as I recall.  Mark Samwick and David Stark were also 
mentioned as Assistants, but they had long vacated the echo, too.  So it was 
up to me to do something about it.
