I've found the same thing to be true--once the food is in the bird, just
stand back--there's nothing you can do but wait it out!

I've had adult birds try to feed me occasionally, but nothing like what
these babies do! They "fountain"! I still have no clue as to why
they do this, but I'm finding that *sometimes*, if they're fed with a
dixie cup instead of a syringe, the regurgitating isn't as bad. So we're
going thru dixie cups like crazy lately...
