subject: RCMA/US Scanner News

I wanted to mention that I agree with ROGER CRAVENS. I am a director of
the Chicago Area Radio Monitoring Association (CARMA), and we used to be
known for many years as "RCMA - Chicago Chapter." We were more or less
told by Anaheim that we had to "disassociate our name," but could be
affiliated with RCMA. That only made our local organization stronger. We
have over 500 members, meet every other month at various locations in
metro Chicago, publish and excellent newsletter and have a fine BBS.
At our CARMA meeting this last Saturday, Rich Carlson N9JIG, also
director of CARMA and author of SCANNER MASTER, Illinois Communications
Guide made similar statements as Mr. Cravens. I am inclined that if
everyone took this position, then US Scanner and RCMA could solidify the
national organization(s) for scanner hobbyists.
