MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Barley Water
 Categories: Beverages
      Yield: 1 Drink

    100 g  Pearl barley
    600 ml Water & just enough extra
           -tap water to cover the
           -Barley in a pan

  Place the Barley in a pan & just cover with tap water.

  Bring this to the boil then stop.

  Drain off & discard the tap water (this has 'washed' the Barley).

  Add the 600 ml of water to the pan of hot Barley & simmer for 5
  minutes.

  Strain the liquid into a jug & allow to cool before serving.

  Keep the pearl barley you have just used. It can be made into a
  risotto.
