>>> Part 1 of 2...
-=> Quoting Steve Asher to Peter Coggon <=-
SA> Mulling over PETER COGGON to STEVE ASHER 25 Apr 2009
SA> G'day Peter!
PC> As I read our title "Thought Police in Britain" I am thinking of
PC> movies, and it is so strange to read this, and know on a
PC> whim, one can be picked up.... like 1984 coming or here.
SA> Thank you, I would be interested in his reply.
PC> Ok Will let you know when he reads it, and a reply. Perhaps he
PC> will grace us with his appearance here. Warning, we don't get
PC> along, so our debates can be hot ones .
SA> OK ... he might play the ball & not the man
SA> It is (or was) an advertising campaign, and a number of US cities
SA> have "Why Islam?" adverts promoting islam as a
"religion of peace".
SA> It puts the bus company in a quandary - do they censor such things,
SA> or allow them as free speech, and in the case of the British buses
SA> there were objections from some drivers over being assigned to drive
SA> buses which contradicted their faith.
PC> Interesting. Also a note that Islam is the fastest growing with
PC> converts everyday. I wonder what they convert to?
SA> Some interesting claims made about Islam are that everyone is born
SA> muslim ("pure"), but are led astray by their Christian / Jewish /
SA> Atheist parents, and "revert" to Islam, rather than
"convert" to it.
SA> This is a fairly common claim. (Search on revert islam to find
SA> relevant sites, if interested)
SA> Obviously this is not a biblically based claim, and the
"numbers game"
SA> of converts / reverts to Islam bears out the prophecy of the great
SA> falling away (apostasy) that precedes the revealing of the man of
SA> lawlessness (Antichrist) described in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.
SA> Britain is accommodating its muslim minority, while repressing its
SA> (professing) Christian majority - banning "Saint George" parades,
SA> renaming Christmas as Winterval, serving halal food to all children
SA> in some schools, not having "piggy banks" in bank branches because
SA> it "offends" the minority, and so on.
PC> Oh yes, I heard about the "St. George" bans too. All the rest as
PC> so not to offend, but it is only fundalmentals getting all this
PC> stuff going, all my friends different faiths, and all, I get or
PC> try to get along with them all, wishing them the best at their
PC> holidays and special days.
PC> Looks like I'll be going to jail, because I still celebrate
PC> christmas.
SA> It may literally come to "Merry Christmas, and off with your head"
SA> as the conspiracy against God and his only begotten Son comes to
SA> its climax.
SA> Cheers, Steve..

Thought police muscle up in Britain
Hal G. P. Colebatch | April 21, 2009
BRITAIN appears to be evolving into the first modern soft totalitarian
state. As a sometime teacher of political science and international law,
I do not use the term totalitarian loosely.
There are no concentration camps or gulags but there are thought police
with unprecedented powers to dictate ways of thinking and sniff out heresy,
and there can be harsh punishments for dissent.
Nikolai Bukharin claimed one of the Bolshevik Revolution's principal tasks
was "to alter people's actual psychology". Britain is not Bolshevik, but a
campaign to alter people's psychology and create a new Homo britannicus is
under way without even a fig leaf of disguise.
The Government is pushing ahead with legislation that will criminalise
