That stuff you quoted looks like from the Tool's User's Guide,
and it actually just says "some directives that other assemblers
support", not specifically MASM.  Also, "type" is one that is not
listed in that list, so without MASM I didn't know for sure whether
it was the program or watcom that was at fault (the latter is
correct).  

The amazing thing is that Watcom say that they don't intend to
teach you assembler, go and buy a book on assembler.  So what's
the generic book on assembler then?  The closest standard is
MASM, but if I buy a book on MASM, that won't help me when I'm
trying to program for WASM!  I am using Watcom C++ 10.0b BTW.
