SD>Hello, Mark. SD> MH> Sean. I'm not saying it's a problem now. But who knows what SD> MH> lies within the source code. Maybe theres some variable counter SD> MH> that overflows in the year 2008. Sure your software works great SD> MH> and that's good, but what about next year? SD>Thankfully, there's tons of BBS source code out there that you can SD>work on and use to your heart's content. ;) LoraBBS is a great SD>example. Unfortunately, I don't know C++, otherwise I could use it. I'm not sure about the non-C/C++ or non-BASIC code, but the source code I've looked at from time to time didn't even compile properly. I did have luck once upon a time getting an old version of WWIV to compile. Even got the something of it to execute. The configuration program I think. Fortunately, it's somewhat of a better situation these days. Synchronet is effectively open source and last I heard a guy was re-writing Renegade. Beyond that, I'm not really sure as I'm really out of the loop these days.... .
