FM> I haven't looked at PKT and only a little at QWK. I thought QWK FM> was reasonably straightforward, if a little bizarre in its FM> implementation of some things like dates and numbers as you FM> have seen. And, of course limiting in that it doesn't allow the FM> full length for eg From:/To:/Subject:. I never had to contend FM> with ^A kludges, never saw them. (Maybe they don't appear in FM> QWKs.) I meant translating one to the other. Bizarre is a good word for it. I've actually got it working! FM> Hey Paul, I assume PKT is the way things move around in the FM> "real" world, inter-BBS? What was that Fido spec I should have FM> grabbed? FTS-0001.zip FM> If I'm going to do something, I might as well handle the lot. FM> At least allow for everything in "the lot", for future FM> expansion. I think the TinyPoint approach is the way to go: an OL*EDITOR* (not reader), and qwk/pkt converters/joiners. You need separate zippers and unzippers, so you may as well have separate qwk2pkt and pkt2qwk too. Both formats are bizarre, so who cares which one you use for the reader/editor? QWK is more popular, so you may as well use it, and convert its output to pkt for point use.
