PK> I disagree. As an RC I only ever saw ONE proposal put forward for us

The first proposal was a number of months before the drafts on the
second one started. It was sent to the RCs, I think at the time that
Bj”rn became editor, by the then outgoing Fidonews editor. That
would have been perhaps as much as two years before the proposal you
are talking about finally came to a vote.

DS> It died with no response from anyone.

PK> Not according to those counting the votes and what I observed.

My point is that the first proposal did not come to a vote, and died a
silent death with no response from anyone.

DS> Perhaps, but that second proposed change did get a lot of people

PK> I never saw a "second" proposal, only one was ever put

PK> if there was a first that I did not see) then it was not
 PK> well advertised.

You are talking about the "second" proposal. The first was the simple
one that did nothing more than change the node address for the
  fidonews editor.

PK> Remove items that are contentious from the menu and this
 PK> bird could probably fly...

DS> The bird will fly iff the RCs collectively want it to fly.

PK> Rest assured, the RC's I communicated with wanted it to Fly
PK> for sure, but ONLY on the first part of the proposal, they
PK> would never accept the second part.

Then get them to a vote and pass the simple change. It would be
something, and something is better than nothing.
