No, _Udu Wudu_ was a great album by Magma, but perhaps
you are thinking of Can's _Tago Mago_, also a fine album?

DM> Is it just me, or does Magma remind anyone else here of Carl Orff's
 DM> _Carmina Burana_?

Very much so, I've always seen Magma as a syncretic blend
of Carl Orff and John Coltrane in outer space.

DM> I think I prefer _Lark's Tongues_, myself, bit _Red_ is up there.

I have to agree. Jamie Muir turns my crank. I've seen
vids of the band from the _Lark's Tongue_ period and Muir
is amazing, especially with Bruford. He's like the icing
        on the cake. Yum.

Ever hear of a guy your way in Texas by the name of Spot?
Puts out occasional self produced LPs. I'm trying to
track down some more of his stuff. He's a bit like R.
Stevie Moore but with more blues influence and a bit
        further out there.

                                Cheers,
                                Kenneth
