A group of atheists put up a display next to a Christmas display in a Seattle
shopping mall. The display consisted primarily of a sign welcoming readers
to the winter solstice (which is December 21st) and pointing out that long
ago Christianity co-opted that pagan holiday celebration as their own.

Assuming that the biblical story of Christmas is true, then Jesus could *not* have
been born in December and was most likely born in the late spring - right around
the time of Easter. In any case that sign was stolen/destroyed; since the only
people who would have been upset by it would be fundamentalist Christians one
can safely assume that those were the perpetrators.
