Why not? You can transliterate the German Umlauts and Esszet without
problems, and the nordic combinations should be no harder.

I quit timED very reluctantly, when I switched my working computer from
OS/2 to Win98 (meanwhile W2K) and I couldn't use the DOS version because
all of my mailbase files had long names which I didn't want to change
because I would have had to completely revise my system to do it. GoldED
was the only other option, and had the advantage that it was open-source
and thus available for various platforms - including Linux (I tried MsgED
under Linux, but it was simply too "spartanic" for my taste -
message editors are a religion, and I just wasn't convinced, although MsgED
did have the advantage that there were no problems with the character sets
such as we're discussing here.)

I never used FleetStreet and am just as happy I didn't, since it was
strictly an OS/2 editor. Nice as long as you use OS/2, but in these
multi-OS times too limited.

OK, lots of luck!

Cheers, Bob
