RF> MP> REGINA FINAN was thinking about Jeremy and keyed into
RF>cyberspace:
MP> As for the twins...if they are identical, both have ADHD.
No, they are fraternal, girl and boy.
MP> Josh is now starring as the lead in the movie "Raging Hormones". Brace
MP> yourself. It gets worse.
I'm sure it does. I suppose girls are different in that respect. Although,
with my oldest daughter, it definetly was much more than how everyone lead
me to believe.
RF> We do this. I also immediately tell my husband what discipline
RF>measure I have taken so it stays inforce and no misunderstandings

MP> Good idea. Last night we went out for emergency coffee. They woman at
MP> Dunkin Donuts asked us if the kids were giving us a hard time. I
MP> thought I invented it.
Yes, we did too, only not coffee, we bought a safe. My Jeremy got caught
red handed stealing money from me. Not pocket change either. It was my
electric bill payment. My husband totally blew up. Not a pretty sight.
I managed to talk to him and he started to cry when discussing what that
money was meant for and what this missed payment will do to us. Then he
asked me to go upstairs to discuss something. He told me he has been
hearing voices the past two days. They were telling him to beat up his
brother and to steal the money. I was a little scared at first, but after
more discussion I realized what he was saying and he confirmed it. He is
having a battle of good and bad and the bad is winning. The voices are
when you think out loud fighting with yourself when you have to make
choices. No this is not impulse, this is a conscious, meditated choice
he made. Later, he started coming downstairs with all the things he
bought and all the money he could find. One of them a large bill and he
told me he was going to pay every penny back. His father and I were quite
astonished and told him how proud we were he took responsibility. OBTW,
he also took ALL the responsibility and said his brother and sister were
not involved. (Of course, it took an hour to get the truth from him when
we found out). As disappointed that I am in him, I am still proud that
his actions (after getting caught) were his own thoughts and his ideas.
Of course, the whole discipline for this action has not been totally
constructed yet. We all needed time to cool down and be fair.
RF> I am slowly getting to the bottom of it. It just gets so darn
RF>frustrating though.
MP> Keep the faith. Find something that he likes. Fortunately, Josh likes
MP> volunteering. So he does a lot of it. Now to get him to volunteer to
MP> clean his room.
Jeremy can never finish the job.
