As I mentioned in a previous post in this echo, I've been having some
problems with Telemate not downloading properly.  When I would use
Zmodem or Ymodem-G, it would invariably give me a download error at
precisely 24,756 bytes every time.  I have version 4.21, and I'm fairly
sure that it's configured properly.  I also have 2400 baud modem, and
I'm running under MS-DOS v4.01 (for what that's worth.) There's plenty
of room onn my hard drive.
Now -- to get on with this -- I did a little experimentation to try to
figure out why it didn't work.  I think I've tracked down part of the
problem.  It seems that these errors are limited to BBSs that use
Wildcat.  The two that give me these problems are versions 4.10 and
4.12.  The problem doesn't happen on Maximus or KBBS based boards.
If there's a work-around for this, I'd love to hear it.  Thanks.
