HH> etc.). They don't walk. Instead they pop up and down like a windup
HH> toy. Lories are silly birds .
It's true! We only have the one pair but they are quite enjoyable. Ours
are Green Napes (rainbows) and are outdoors in an elevated cage. They
weathered the winter well and have two eggs right now. We feed them
Pretty Bird Lory diet and they are doing well.
HH> For my inside Lory's cage, I use 'Carefresh' (or any highly
HH> absorbent) litter. The back one-half of the cage is covered with
HH> an un-stiched pillow case. The biggest 'mess' problem (outside of
HH> the cage) I have with the Lory - when eating (and they are NOT
HH> neat eaters), he will flip his head/beak sideways to remove stuck
Ours put their food in their water bowl.
HH> food. You'd be surprised just how far applesauce can fly.
HH> The only thing I can think of when trying to remove dried applesauce
HH> is superglue .
Use something with enzymes in it so it will dissolve easier. Learned
this in nursing. Also some organic products like food will be more
difficult to remove from certain wall surfaces. kinda like in medieval
times when they made paints with different types of pigments/binders
such as the protein/albumin from eggs added to some pigments and when
painted on stucco/fresco type walls when wet, when dry became permanent.
HH> If you like the birds, you clean up after them. Lories are neat
Absolutely!!!

Oh yeah, hi from within sunny Florida! BTW, do you know Margie Meader
near your area? She lives in Morristown I think, somewhere between
Gainesville and Ocala.
Also isn't Carol MacIntyre down Ocala way somewhere?
We're over in Green Cove Springs, which is between Jax, St. Augustine &
Palatka and about 65 mi E (?) of Gainesville.
Have you dealt with the stores in Ocala at all? We talked to the folks
there in several one time when we were down that way. Wondering how they
are to deal with.
What all do you have or raise? We have a bit of everything, lotsa
conures, some macaws, some nice English budgies, amazons, all sorts of
stuff. About 400 in all. Keeps us busy.
