As a matter of fact George said "I only will turn it over to the
IC!" where-upon I said "So let me have it then". Where-upon
George was startled and responded sort of "Huh? Who's IC then?".
It was quite clear he wasn't prepared to turn the domain over to anyone
outside zone-1 and clung to the IC-requirement thinking it was George
Peace. After that (and after being gone from Fidonet for how many years? 5?
6? And still sitting on it...) it took more than 6 months and several
diversion maneuvers requiring letters to and from Marco d'Itri that
eventually the domain became available after having experienced total
abandonement for at least 5 years.

A lie! I never promised anything of that kind, one must be crazy to share a
password among several people. That beats the purpose of having a password.
What was discussed was listing you and/or Malcolm in either the technical
or admin sections so that in case of a demise of or abandonement by the
current owner nobody would have to go through the ordeal that Marco and I
did to establish some credibility. This was never done, with hindsight that
was a good thing.
Apart from that nobody ever stopped Bob Satti from doing something about
bringing the domain back in line. Nobody ever stopped you or anyone else
from attempting to salvage that domain either. Nobody ever lifted a finger.
Other than that I only aquired the password early in February of this year
when the domainname was coming up for renewal and a number of people seemed
to have invested money in back-order schemes, no doubt hoping I would let
it lapse. Some registrants made good money on that, some fools lost good
money too.

That's a good point. I'll see how this could be dealt with.
Take care,
