         I direct the community youth chorale here. When our local Planned
 Parenthood Director enrolled her son in the program, she hoped he would
 be enthusiastic about the experience.

         At the first rehearsal, we discussed the importance of the muscles
 that help our singing.

         The boy returned home and bounced into the house, where his mother
 was washing dishes. She asked him -- with great anticipation -- how the
 rehearsal had gone.

         "Great, Mom," he said. And then, to show off his new
vocal knowledge,
 added, "Do you know what a DIAPHRAGM is?!"

         I had to buy her a new casserole bowl.
