Vmodem as implemented by Ray Gwinn's SIO & SIO2K driver sets for OS/2
understands both Vmodem (default port of 3141) and Telnet (default port of 23.)
To the mailer software, it just appears to be a serial port with a POTS modem
attached. Mark Lewis runs FrontDoor for OS/2 this way; I do the same with
BTXE. Most of my mail links are using BinkD, but the capability is there for
those that want to use it.

The NetSerial package from pcmicro.com offers similar functionality for Telnet
connections under Windows.

Andrew
