know if she's losing weight from the cancer, or from the stress
from scratching and all the sores on her neck.
she's almost 16 years old and this is the first time she's ever
seen a flea too.
Fleas are like hemorrhoids, funny as hell provided YOU don't have 'em.
I never saw a flea 'till I moved to Florida. They made me feel the
ticks in New England weren't so bad after all. My dog died at 17
and the last couple years of her life were miserable in Florida.
They've since come out with the flea pills that you give like
heartworm medication. Seems to work pretty well. My cousin's
dog doesn't seem to be bothered at all.
One thing I had good luck with, was Avon Skin So Soft. Some people
claim it works, some say it doesn't. Way I figured it, it didn't
hurt, and it may have helped. At least me and Silky smelled better.
I think the MAIN preventative is to keep the animals indoors. You
may be spraying the heck out of everything in sight, but the animals
that are out roaming are spreading fleas over everything you just
sprayed.
Good luck
