Thanks for the information Kathy!  I think I'll wait ungil I actually have a 
freenet address befor I subscribe.  Jeff left me with the impression that he 
prefers people not use the gateway for list servers.  I also don't have an 
off-line mail reader program yet and I suspect that there's a lot information 
to look at, so I think I better wait until I'm properly equipped.
     I'm sure you're right. it sounds really interesting.
