My younger daughter could read at a grade two or three level by the time

Donna, since your daughter - Jennifer - seemed to pick up words via
"osmosis" how can you attribute her good reading to the teaching of
heavy phonics?
I'd like to discuss this issue but first I'd like to know how you feel
about whole language reading programs? Since I have researched reading
as a student teacher for educational psychology and again as a teacher
for my additional qualification in special education I've come across
some interesting material.
So tell me more, please.
