Comp has been around for at least 10 years.  It's found in
   Turbo Pascal 5.0 (circa 1987), 5.5, 6.0, 7.0
   Delphi 1, 2, 3
I don't have a manual on TP 4.0, but I've seen 4.0 code that used a
variable called comp, so I doubt that is was defined at that time.
When computer languages were invented, they should have allowed for
numbers far in excess of the size of the US national debt.
