Although, to be honest,  I will likely blow a grand on my bike when all is 
said and done - or more. $700 for the bike, and $300 on toys. At least. If 
not more. 
See up here, provincial sales tax (7%) is waived for any purchases of bike 
accessories made when a bike is also purchased. 
Consequently, all the things I want/need are calling me. So its time for a 
pump, a better computer, better bar ends, better helmet, shoes, pedals... oh, 
the list goes on.
As for your question about foot numbness, I'm well beyond unqualified to
