I've seen steam tracers (my wife worked in a refinery for 25 years).
I forgot about that, but don't really consider that a 'heating system' in the
context of our discussion.
And if you don't think that refinerys care about energy efficiency, you just
haven't ever been close to one. One of their biggest costs of operation is
energy input, and believe me, they spend a LOT of money to increase
efficiency wherever possible.
