JONATHAN DE BOYNE POLLARD wrote something vaguely related to Good OS/2 C/C++ books ZZ> objects in the right sequence, link them to events, and > viola! I'm considering upgrading from CSET ++ V2.0 to VisualAge C++ V3.0, but I've not yet decided whether it is worth to me the $200+ that it would cost. How does V3 compare with V2, particularly in documentation, debugging, and SOM programming? With V2, I keep running into places where the *.h files contradict the *.inf contents, or *.inf tells me nothing more than I can determine by looking at the *.h files (example code is sometimes no more complete than the code shown in the Syntax window); I keep crashing or locking up the debugger when trying to debug multithreaded programs that utilize event semaphores; and I have yet to find out how to force CSET into recompiling the WPCAR sample, so SOM work has been pretty much out of the question. How much better is V3.0? * KWQ/2 1.2g * "Another great idea from the man who brought you Beer Milkshakes! --- QScan/PCB v1.17b / 01-0093* Origin: La Cantina BBS * El Paso * 915-532-0332 7Gig, 6 Nodes (1:381/123) SEEN-BY: 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 807 808 809 934 955 712/407 SEEN-BY: 712/515 628 704 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 381/123 900 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
