Hello Ben,

Read the documentation _very_ carefully... I _think_ there is some "blah
blah blah" about a reactivation should you crash your system and have to
reinstall the programs. Symantec as been taking lessons from Microsoft in
an effort to boost sales -- buddy of mine was so disgusted with their
scheming that he took the software back to the retailer and got a full
refund.

I'm running with NSW 2001, with _NO_ reactivation, and it's working well
enough for me -- LiveUpdate ensures that everything is current.

I created the ten Rescue diskettes and copied the files onto the DOS box.
Haven't had an opportunity to try threm out yet.... :-(((

Well, I didn't have a CD-ROM unit in the DOS box until yesterday....

I'll have to try running some of the NSW proggies from the CD on the DOS
box. I just now looked in the NSW Utilities folder on the Win machine and
I'm thinking that Speed Disk will only run in a FAT-32 environment because
I see a SD32.EXE.... I'll have to try to install NSW 2001 through WfW 3.11
and see what happens.

It just took me a lot longer than I figured it would and I don't think I
could have done it without the Internet and the expertise of a fellow in
Scotland (he's got an excellent website with very detailed help of how to
setup a WfW 3.11 network). It was certainly easier than trying to setup a
network with MSLAN....

I guess I could get a USB card for the WfW/DOS box and use my external CD
burner (that is, if the software will install to WfW).... That all seems
like an unnecessary expense after a couple of people have told me that I
_should_ be able to transfer files through the network.

Hang on to all the BNC stuff -- my son may want to relieve you of that
hardware -- he won't upgrade to RJ45 because he can move a computer to any
room in the house and be on his network within two minutes (he's got two
cables into every room - former owner was a real television freak).

Did the AUTO_SPD.BTM do anything for you?

           Cheers ... Gerald
