Help was just a little bit nebulous..... Actually, the fourth parm.
is for the write precomp cylinder. This was used by older MFM/RLL
drives and does not apply to IDE.
What you describe with the mapping is fairly common - autodetect gives
you one thing, then the drive description on the setup page shows
something else, especially if you allow the AUTO mode. I usually find
one that works, then change if to USER rather than AUTO so that the
BIOS doesn't try to 'help' me. Older AMI BIOS's were bad about this.
