If you're driving an EV1, you'd better be clse to whereever you want to
go ;-) ...  According to the car's review and testing in _Motor Trend_
the week before last, the maximum range before you need a recharge is
about 40 to 45 miles :-(.   Read the article before you get too
interested intrading in your old gas guzzler for an EV1.
