* Originally in: Friendly BBS General Chatter NO FLAMES! I think it questionable foreign policy to invade Iraq, a country that neigther had weapons of mass destruction nor a sovereign nation capable of posing a threat to the United States. I question Republican policies that claim we are safer as a result of this course of action. I find George W. Bush's much touted missle defense system questionable from a fiscal responsibilty standpoint as well as the scientic improbability of it *ever* be able to be made to work reliably. Bear in mind that while the current Republican administration is currently screwing around in Iraq and getting our servicemen and woman killed fr no reason both the Soviet Republics and communist China have been developing hypercavitating submarine torpedos and hypercavitating Intercontinental Ballistic Missles? What are these you may ask? A Russian hypercaviting torpedo is said to travel at 230 knots well in ecess of the speed of any U.S. warship or submarine. A hypercavitating missle pretty much the same priciple applies. A shock wave in front of these weapons systems allows torpedos, missles and submarines to travel at extraordinary and unprecedented speeds. Does this pose a threat to you and I in the United states? You bet! Now what are the Republicans in Iraq doing to keep us safe while this is going on in the rest of the world and posing an increasing threat? Do you think a hypercavitating missle capable of evading Bush's missle defense system? Think about it. ...
