Hi Mike,

     About "Fdsz" of April 2:

MR> Are you using fdsz rather than dsz?
JK> BINGO!!! That was the problem. File transfers are woking.
MP> In order to run fdsz on a telnet system, with virtualized ports, do
MP> you need a fossil driver?

I can't but notice that a full week passed and yet the thread stops
there. Hummm... I begin to wonder. Perhaps, as i wrote in my previous
post of March 23 to mister King, the ~FOSSIL~-related interfacing issues
do sound like deja vu all right - and not just for me... Is it possible
that no one else ever experienced any problem trying to support `ZMoDem'
over ~TelNet~, that none of the SysOps left around cares to transfer any
files over ~TelNet~ - or even use ~TelNet~ itself - anymore? I could as
well conclude that little can be added but i'm only a BBSer and the fear
of being a marginal (LEGACY) exception never really stopped me before...

                                  ;^)

MP> I am running a DOS BBS program under OS/2 using VMoDem SIO2K.

I'm not familiar with `SIO'/`VMoDem' but i believe ~UART~ emulation
is what makes it so convenient for use by Communications/BBS SoftWare...

In any case, the short answer is "yes" when one wonders if he needs
to get ~FOSSIL~ support in order to load `FDSZ' - the "F" in `FDSZ' does
stand for ~FOSSIL~, after all, and `FDSZ' just has no other interface...

MP> The BBS program itself works fine, but the protocols do not. The
MP> BBS program is running without a fossil...

As far as `FDSZ' is concerned, the lack of ~FOSSIL~ support is like
hoping to use an electrical applicance with no electrical outlet nearby.

                                  ;->

1st things 1st, i'd make sure the external ~FOSSIL~ protocol driver
is "plugged"... The terminal mode in `FDSZ' makes it easy to ensure the
printable characters can be moved around, if `FDSZ' doesn't seem to work
at that level the chances are you're not dealing with an `FDSZ' problem.

                                   :)

                                    Salutations,

                                    Michel Samson
