RC> Hello Bob!
RC> 09 Mar 07 00:11, you wrote to me:

RC> It surely isnt being corrupted, but it is under control by

And the rule was the military stays out of politics you idiot.
The balance between the parties was the guardian of that. The
republican party abandoned any pretense of balance and blatantly
politicized the military.
RC>>> When the Ford Class gets built, chances are an earlier

No, building another carrier. That may be the waste of money. It
wasn't too long ago the politicians were authorizing ships and
the Navy was saying we don't need them. Seems the administration
has replaced anyone who thinks independently.
RC> It is said that CVN 77 will probably remain in service all
RC> the way up to 2053.
Then wait 10 years to build it and have it in service until
2063.
BK>> Honor, recognition, politics. With Bush Jr sending off a ship
BK>> honoring his father, nepotism in reverse?
RC> Prove he had anything to do with its naming, you cant of

Prove that he didn't.
Prove that the republican party didn't do it for political
purposes.
RC>>> Whom a ship is named after has no bearing on the missions
RC>>> it is sent to perform, you think otherwise, again a

BK>> Your non-sequitor is a reflection of your inferior intelligence,
BK>> and lack of integrity. Whether it has no bearing on the mission,
BK>> if it is not of any significance what is the purpose of naming
BK>> them after anyone?
RC> Uh what does it matter, does the name curtail any mission
RC> the ship will be called upon to do?
That one was answered before.
OTOH, if it doesn't, then name one the Lyndon B. Johnson, since
he was a "war president" before any of the current crop.
RC>>> As was H W Bush.
BK>> No more than any other pilot in that war. Or any other combat
BK>> soldier.
RC> His service accomplishments beat that of any active
RC> Democrat you are in love with, and H W Bush didnt throw his
RC> medals over a fence.
Do you have some sort of romantic attachment to GHW Bush? Or GW
Bush? That's the only reason I can think of you keep harping on
being in love with any politician. There is only one politician
I support with a clear conscience, Marcy Kaptur, my
congresswoman. All the others are the lesser of two evils.
However, John McCain was a far better office than GHWB. Max
Cleland sacrificed more, and won a higher decoration for
courage. Kerry's Silver Star is a higher decoration. Oh, and the
DFC is also awarded for achievement, which means it may be
higher ranked than the Bronze star, but the Bronze star with V
is for battle. I didn't know until now, Murtha also was awarded
the Distinguished Service Medal, which is higher than the Silver
Star.
And there are over 100 veterans in the congress, 25 combat vets,
all of who deserve more respect that Bush JR. Yet that doesn't
diminish your love for the Shrub.
Hell, even my State Senator, Theresa Fedor, is a vet and she
managed to show up every day she was supposed to.
So don't try that great hero BS and loving a politician BS until
you renounce GW Bush.
Now, back the GHWB. Still nothing in his record to justify
naming any ship after him, not even a tugboat. Certainly not a
major vessel.
RC> Did Bush singlehandedly sink a Japaness Carrier
RC> battlegroup, hell no, but your beloved Kerry didnt come
RC> close to anything he did, yet you will recognize Kerry's
RC> service and dismiss Bushes out of hand..
You share the republican tendency to exagerate to the extreme
either way. Kerry did serve with distinction. He did lead his
people into the enemie's fire against conventional procedure and
changed the tactics for river battle. He did risk his life to
save others.
Yet I would not favor naming a ship after him, even had he won
the presidency.
I do not "dismiss" GHW Bush's service, I dismiss your hero
worship of him. He was no greater than any other pilot in those
battles as far as has been shown, nor any worse. He just doesn't
deserve the honor of an Aircraft Carrier named after him.
Just as a forinstance, as long as there are Medal of Honor
winners who haven't got a major ship named after them, no
politician should get one.
RC> This is typical for you sick liberal idiots.
That is typical of you sick right wing idiots. Notice I don't
say conservative.
BK>>>> Would today's congress authorize a Nimitz class carrier named
BK>>>> Lincoln? Would Bush push it?
RC>>> There is a NIMITZ Class Carrier named the USS Abraham
RC>>> Lincoln you fucking idiot.
BK>> Was that authorized recently, you fucking idiot? Was Bush the
BK>> one who asked for it?
RC> It was the fifth carrier of its class, commisioned in 1989.
And it was begun before Bush I's term as president. Now, would
Bush II have any carrier named after Lincoln?
RC> When I began this thread, I provided a list of all of the
RC> Nimitz Class Carriers, the fact that you missed it is
RC> telling.
The fact that you can't understand that the Lincoln was
authorized by a previous congress and administration and today
it probably would be named after a living politician of much
less importance is even more telling.
RC>>> You are a typical liberal, dumb as a brick.
BK>> You are a typical conservative, dumb as a brick and nasty as a
BK>> viper.
RC> Is this all you got?
Hell, look at the sappy BS you spew. You are not even capable of
thinking beyond your shallow and short sighted prejudices.
