As expected, it froze again in a couple days.

I think of it a good prevention of spring flooding. It melted much of the
snow (we are on track for a record amount this year). When it froze again,
it gave time for the melt to move down to Lake Michigan. It it had all
melted at once, we would have had massive flooding in a month.
