BG> Have you seen the new experimental 777 in the news recently? That's one

BG> BIG motherfucker of an aeroplane! More like a flying auditorium IMO.

yearh, i think that beoing were looking to airbus to help develop it,

its such a big project that even they dont have the resources to go it

alone.

 BG> A Macchi?

KR> no worse than that, a meteor!

BG> Jesus, they were one of the very first jet-powered aircraft too. Or maybe

BG> I'm thinking of the old English-Electric (which was a funny name for a

yep, they used them to shoot down v1s, i think that a couple of extra

lucky souls actually bagged mig-15s with them in korea. the poms used

them as night fighters up to the early 60s. this particular example was

the station hack, used as a high speed taxi or delivery van. the english

electric plane was probably the canberra light bomber, one of the truely

greats for it's day. last year, in the uk, i went to duxford aircraft

museum (a must for anybody with any interest in aviation), and there was

a privately owned canberra practicing for an airshow. it must be nice to

have real serious money (:

BG> Bob and Paul (and Rod too, I guess) will all be thinking "what a

BG> fuckwit, he doesn't like flying commercial, but would gladly strap

BG> himself into one of those deathtraps". Maybe they _are_ more

BG> dangerous, but if I crash, it'll be my own fault, and not some

 BG> other bastard's. |-)

KR> exactly, if i die, i'd rather it was my fuckup than someone else's

BG> I guess that makes both of us as just loony as each other then. :)

i dont mind being thought mad, its only stupid that is an insult (:
