realistically speaking, i am unlikely to write any apps big enough to
make the difference in the optimiser apparent. now that i have bc4.5, i
am told that all the bugs have gone (theres probably just as many new
ones, but then wasn't watcom's service pack nearly as big as an os/2
one? (-8 ). for me as more a hacker than a comp sci grad, the better
organisation of owl was of greater benefit. unfortunately, i think that
vc++ and mfc will probably prevail eventually, there is a nasty
inevitability that if you are not bug for bug compatible with M$ you
will probably lose out in the end (for the time being at least.).
