LF>to all, LF>I have a cockatiel who has flakey skin all over his feet, when I talke LF>pet shop man he suggested it was scaley mite and sold us some parrafin LF>this has made no difference, if there is any-one out there who may be LF>help please leave a message for me. LF>Thank-you!!! LF> LF>--- Maximus/2 3.01 LF> Hi Luke, My name is Anita Trichel, I am a veterinarian but am not an Avian vet. So I am not an expert but have treated birds and own and breed birds. If the diagnosis is scaley leg mites I would suggest finding an avian vet or a vet that knows something about treating birds and let him take a look. One of the treatment for scaley leg mites is an oral dose of ivermectin. The treatment is simple to do, should be inexpensive, and you should see results. Also the bird will be much happier without parrafin all over its feet! I hope this helps.
