  Aha! That's the one!

Well, there you are then. All you have to do is use the (W)ord
processor to open a spare 00000000.pkt from qwk2pkt. Count back 12
from the first date and there should be a blank with a filled-smiley
(0x02) in front. Cut everything after the smiley (F5/F6) and you
should be left with the smiley followed by the EOF marker that PCTools
adds, and a file that is 60 bytes long. Use the (E)ditor in hex mode
(F1) and edit the last two characters (02 1A) to 00 00. That's it!

Ahh... I like the old ones best. R4.22 was a classic!

  What you are actually doing:

The packet header is 58 bytes, and 02 00 marks the neginning of the
first message. The packet footer is 00 00. Your null packet is a
58-byter header, followed by the 00 00 footer, to make a total 60-byte
no-messages packet.

Paul is still sending the wrong header out of PQWK222 but he has
fixed it up to add a valid date/time stamp in PQWK230.

Bob
