-=> Quoting Paul Edwards to Brenton Vettoretti on 04-19-97 -=> PE> Basically, there's not many people left here, and in addition, PE> those two echos may effectively be cut when I "go internet". PE> But then, maybe some of those people will start polling me PE> also, for the "internet side", in which case they will be back. What does this mean? I thought your idea was to set up an alternate net with you as the hub... trading internet-type packets so we can either poll you or an ISP direct for LOCUSER (or maybe AVT-reborn)? Is this still your idea? I thought it was a great idea... a way to dip a toe into the Internet standards without all the crap of www and home pages and shit. I shall be excessively annoyed if you cut me when you go internet. I'll need a while to swap software (and write my TinyPoint internet-QWK conversion), or move back to the PCUG. Where can I get details of the Internet dialog equivalent to the Fido Wazoo hello? I'm using Telix to dial up, and I need to know what crap to send to poll for Internet mail so I can rewrite TinyPoint.
