-> > Too much pain to ever really stop thinking about it but it's -> > been a bit less on my mind of late. -> Man... don't sound good, what year did ya have all these fractures Wayne? Riding a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle operated in an insanely wreckless and illegal manner. A _second_ time when riding a motorcycle to vocational rehabilitation for job retraining as the bike was the only transportastion I could afford on SSDI. Not like I was an inexperienced rider either as I'd previously had 17 years riding without major incident. Neither was my fault. -> > Lumbar spine here, multiple fractures. -> > Can still walk a bit but no more than a few blocks or stand -> > and sit 90 minutes a day at best. -> Darn, can't the doctors do something for ya? If I had a couiple of hundred grand I could try some experimental stuff but no guarantee. Others with similar injuries have been told there's nothing to be done. I literally begged a doctor on Voc Rehab's short list to fuse my spine but he declined to do so. It would have given me a shot at returning to work. -> My SCI is permanent, I'm in a wheelchair, for 20+ years now. I hate hearing about others' difficulties even more than my own. I _should_ be in a wheelchair as it'd help my mobility but it's a maole pride - ego thing. Perhaps when I've fallen face forward a few more times breaking my fall with my face a few more times. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
