A Jew would not regard it as "whitewashing"; there are some acts that
are forbidden, even to save an innocent life. What she /does/ do,
rightfully enough, is elevate Morden above the level of a mustache-
twirling villain engaged in the selfless pursuit of Evil for its own
sweet sake, which is what the Morden of 2258-2261 had the appearance
of being.

"The Shadow Within" does not excuse Morden; it merely explains him.
