  You cut most of the message, but my usual practice is to tell people
  to read the documentation (GBASEDOC.ZIP) first, which will tell them
  all about whatever tools they need.  It saves repetition in the echo.

  Also, generating fully fledged applications is not the sole use of
  Guidelines.  If you use it as a souped up dialogue editor (for
  example) then you do not require a C++ compiler.
