In a word, YES. After lurking in your automotive echo for so long, I was
surprised to see your post in the parrot echo. Most of the foods you eat are
Ok for both of your birds. No chocolate, no booze, no etc. There are a number
of things we humans eat that are bad for birds, but mostly, if it's a healthy
food for you, it's good for them. Nuts in moderation (I feed mine a couple a
day), fresh veggies and fruit, or failiing that, frozen are better than
canned, although my birds get canned once in a while just for a change of
pace. Our birds really like baked potato & barbecued chicken (the cannibals).
There are pelleted foods available in most (some?) pet stores that are
supposed to be excellent for 'em. A little seed is ok (no sunflower), but
very
much seed at all isn't a good thing.
I hope this helps John. (I'm not a professional avian specialist or anything,
but I do have several healthy tropical birds and have had two of 'em for four
or five years. None of our birds have ever been ill , so I'm
just going by our experiences with these guys.)
