(Special edition for all those who've abandoned the misnamed Avtech
echo:)

We have a comet! At last! Tonight, between about 6.30 and 7.30pm,
very close to the horizon in the twilight, it was just visible to
my naked eye (Jan's eye is a lot better than mine, she said "Yeah,
that's it, its just below and to the left of that bright star above
the palm tree, only it's fuzzy", and I with my binocs thought What
Bright bloody Star???). Very bright centre (it would have to be, to
be visible in twilight and less than 10 degrees above the horizon),
big bright coma, tail just visible.

Keep an eye out. It won't be anywhere near as spectac as it was in
the northern half, but should still be worth a peek.

Cheers
