Message-ID: http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/ 5/1/2004 12:44:00 PM Saturday news update: Note for those e-mailing here last night, New WOL format tomorrow, New Raw main event, Mid Atlantic reunion, UK edits of WWE, TNA line-up, Greatest jr. heavyweight ever by Dave Meltzer hsmeltzer{at}juno.com A quick note. We had some sort of an e-mail problem so anything sent to us last night from 8 p.m. Eastern time until 2:30 a.m. didn't get here. So if you sent any letters, results from shows, comments on last night's PPV or orders between those hours can you resend them. This goes for both e-mail addresses. We're looking for your thoughts on last night's K-1 PPV, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to dave{at}wrestlingobserver.com. WWE Raw continues tonight in Lubbock, with a Sunday show in Yuma, AZ and Monday's Raw from Phoenix which features the Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels title match. The Raw house show schedule for this week has Benoit vs. HHH headlining all the cities, with Chris Jericho vs. Christian, Kane vs. Matt Hardy and Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin for the IC title. The Smackdown tour opens Sunday night in El Paso with Eddy Guerrero vs. John Layfield for the WWE title, Undertaker vs. Booker T, Rene Dupree & Dawn Marie vs. John Cena & Torrie Wilson and Rico & Charlie Haas vs. Chavo & Chavo Sr. for the tag titles. Wow, they are booking Chavo Sr. as a heel in El Paso. They run the same show in Odessa on Monday night with the Smackdown tapings coming from Tucson. Bryan Alvarez and I will be back live tomorrow night from 8-10 p.m. Eastern time and 5-7 p.m. Pacific time with Wrestling Observer Live on the Sports Byline USA radio network. We'll be trying an experiment in doing a more interactive show as we will be spending the two hours this week taking both phone calls as well as e-mails during the show. No guests this week since we haven't been live in a few weeks and we can talk about the current WWE, the Pride Grand Prix, TNA's TV deal, Austin and any other topic you'd like to discuss. The phone number to call in is 1-800-878-play. You can listen live on a radio station in your area at www.sportsbyline.com or through their web site, this web site, www.dragonkingpress.com or for those with web TV you can get best results at www.610cktb.com. If you live in the Toronto, Buffalo, Detroit or Rochester areas, you can listen on clear channel CKTB 610 AM out of St. Catherines, ONT. --For tomorrow night's Observer Live, we won't be having a guest because we've been off the last two weeks for PPV shows. We will both be taking phone calls as well as for the first time in years, taking e-mail questions and comments. You can send to us here with any questions before or during the show, or comments during the show. --HHH will be off next weekend's Raw house shows so they will be going with Chris Benoit & Edge vs. Ric Flair & Batista for the tag team titles as the main events. --They tried out a gimmick where Eugene comes out riding a stick ala Chavo Guerrero or Perry Saturn at last night's show in Amarillo --The next Mid Atlantic wrestling reunion will be on 8/14 and 8/15 in Fayetteville. Those currently scheduled to attend are Sting, Mick Foley, Members of the Four Horseman (only name specifically listed is Tully Blanchard), Members of the Rock & Roll Express, Bill Apter and Bob Caudle. For more info you can go to www.NWALegends.com. --On Raw in the U.K., the edits were of Kane forcing the kiss on Lita. The early Smackdown editing was kind of funny. When Luther dragged Torrie Wilson in front of Kurt Angle, they cut to a crowd shot. When Angle talked about not being able to have sex with his wife, they muted out the word sex. There were a few crowd shots placed over some of the doggie style stuff in the Rico & Charlie Haas vs. Bashams tag match. However, on the Raw rebound, on this morning show, they didn't edit out Kane forcing his kiss on Lita, which was edited out of the later night Raw show.
