Well, I think the nature of an airship is to be much safer than a
heavier than air airplane. The only disadvantage of the airship is that
it ias slow. Airplanes are like tachyons are said to be - they can't fly
at less than 150 miles an hour or so. Not so dirigibles. We have now
learned that the whole story of how the Hindenburg came to an end is
wrong - it was not the hydrogen that started the fire - and it may have
been sabotaged (Nazi Germany was after all a logical target for somebody
to sabotage it. But it would have been kept secret all these years. The
question who be who. Did somebody think it a potential weapon and this
way the whole program would be killed? Of course it could have been
somebody affiliated with Goering, too.)
