Well if super downrange energy is the goal, why not just stay with
the crossbow bolts, instead of converting the Airrow to pellets?
That way you get enough killing power to take out a deer.  I'm not
sure if it would take out a knight garbed in chain mail, but the
original crossbows firing a very similar projectile did a fair
job on them.
IMO we use airguns and pellets for a reason, and part of that
reason
has to do with limited ranges and limited power.  If the urge for power
overcomes reason, why not just use the .600 Nitro Express?
