subject: YEAH WHAT HAPPENED HERE??

-> KN> past year and as a result sosme of the older and more
-> KN> hardcore proggers lot their access, including the two
->
-> Like, i got more or less kicked by my hub? (well, he deleted my mail
-> and then i kicked myself.)
->
-> KN> Lately I've been mainly listening to Italian bands and
-> KN> prog "classics" in quad. How boutju, Matju?
->
-> Lots of RIO and Zeuhl, and composing my own Techno-RIO on a broken
-> sequencer that i love without sarcasm.
->
-> I'm glancing at recent advance in the possible
-> Alternative-Progressive wave, which i project as a mainstream trend
-> for 1998-2000 approx. (maybe 1999-2005 if we're lucky). Listen to the
-> latest singles of Radiohead and Bush, those both contain at least 16
-> measures of 7/8 each; Bush's is more just rock, about as Prog as Rush
-> on average; Radiohead's latest cartoon videoclip has been banned; a
-> new version has been released, without the black kid squeezing the
-> big tit and with about half the blood of the diplomat cutting
-> himself into pieces. It's currently #10 in the canadian tv charts,
-> still raising, and it's got a real prog feel: unlike Bush, their
-> single sometimes have screwy guitar riffs and moog riffs blended
-> together; it's a multi-part song, too.
->
-> on the rock & techno scene (*not* personal opinions):
-> in: 7/8's (50% sure)
-> in: moog (100% sure)
-> in: everything techno
-> stable: our lady peace, moist
-> out: green day, weezer, offspring
->
-> Weezer made a big flop. the company did only release the most
-> ordinary songs. would have been probably less worst if they had
-> released their alt-prog song (think: feedback, harmonics, baroque
-> elec-guitar riff, tullish scale shifts, and still pop). it's a less
-> commercial song, but surely brings something much fresher.
->
-> Besides, Grim Skunk are relatively big here (do not expect a prog
-> band to be very big).
->
->
->
-> Back to my stuff... personal top 14 albums
->
-> Happy Family                            Happy Family
-> Mekan‹k Kommand”h                       Magma
-> Nucleus                                 Anekdoten
-> Jongleries lastiques                   Miriodor
-> Vemod                                   Anekdoten
-> Hy”nteisi„ voi rakastaa                 H”yry-Kone
-> Red                                     King Crimson
-> Dummy                                   Portishead
-> Post                                    Bj”rk
-> Haus der Lge Einstrzende Neubauten
-> Brain Salad Surgery Emerson Lake and Palmer
-> A Passion Play Jethro Tull
-> Relayer                                 Yes
-> Toscco                                  Happy Family
