Shake hands, claws and paws, *Mickey*!
RK> It is a Disney movie that combines animation with live action.
Like Marry Poppins, right? In what year was it made?
RK> It is about a time in America after the Civil War, but it shows former
RK> slaves and white plantation owners, so the story is upsetting to
RK> some here.
Yes, it's sad but true that even Disney movies are upsetting to
some people. Like Lion King (in the article I've sent you). Maybe,
sometime, it won't be so dramatic anymore. It's a while back now. There are
slaves in many other countries though, and they need to be freed. However,
discussion this would sure be offtopic here I guess =). But anyhow, I would
certainly like to see the Song of the south.
RK> The movie itself is wonderful and IMHO not demeaning to anyone.
I'm sure it is. It's Disney. Okay, there are a few cartoons from
Disney that I, persoanally, don't like, but who likes everything? For me
(as example) it's those cartoons in which animals get hunted. Mostly it's
Goofy with a big gun. No matter whether Tigers or Ducks, I find it
upsetting but it still IS funny how the animals trick him, and especially
love how that Tiger presents him or herself to the viewer: (fist flicking
a single claw creating a pitched B or something, like setting up a music
instrument... and then... "MEEEAAOOOOW..." =) Laugh!! I love it!!! =)
I'll keep watching for a new release of Song of the south!
                                         Hakuna Matata
                                            *JAMMET* =)
