Hello Ruth, RH>I collect thimbles too. It started out when we were stationed in RH>California. At the end of our time there, we were out one night, RH>picking up little souveniers. I looked at brass, bells and a fewother RH>things but the money just wasn't there. Then Steve and I saw some RH>thimbles and decided that would be appropriate for me since I sew a lot RH>(at the time it was mostly making clothes). So, we got that in 1984. RH>Since then, I've added about 175 more but still collecting. I have RH>them in a lot of different mediums--pewter, brass, wood, ceramic, etc. RH>In Switzerland I got a couple with narrow (1/4") bands of petit point RH>worked around them. I have only collected in Mo. , Arkansas, Indiana, and Illinois, but I have quite a collecting including a crystal cut one and of cours e wooden and porcelain , with grandma, mom and so on I even have several precious moments. eRH>Since then, I've expanded my sewing to include a lot of fancy needlework RH>in addition to making clothes, from plain to fancy. I still am on the RH>lookout for thimbles as a compliment to my sewing. I'll have to look RH>thru for duplicates (I think I may have a couple.) if you're interested. Let me know what kind and I will get back to you. Have a wonderful day, Christi Walkup RH>... There cannot be a crisis today; my schedule is already full.
