BG> I recent;y wanted to update my coolpix990 with a newer larger pixel
BG> camera and considered the Canon 10D upon which your 300D is based for
BG> some time. I have a Canon AE1 and the lens could have used them with
BG> the 10D I understand. It is excellent glass and I spent some time in
 BG> confusion.

BG> Instead I stayed with Nikon and another Coolpix, the 8700, The computer
BG> with lens concept has completely won me over.

This I don't fully understand.

BG> The 8700 has a bright red light it beams out for low or no light
BG> focusing. The design is so poor, the thing comes on in bright daylight
BG> even. I keep the camera set in a manual mode, with everything the same
BG> as the automatic mode except for the pop up flash unit disabled. (The
 BG> red light source.)

Ok. I have found out that it's about the same with 300D in automatic mode.
300D doesn't have a red light when focusing in low or no light, it burns off a
couple of flashes instead.

BG> Most likely not, I can do Spanish and Italian, but the French lose me
BG> and further north I don't understand anything you guys are saying. My
BG> paternal grandmother was German and they used it around home, but that
BG> was long ago and I never picked up on it. During the war, they were
BG> bad guys and not to be learned from. How things change. :-)

Yes. Gearhart sounds German.

BG> Chuckle, I can do them also, but not from my keyboard, alt 153 gets me
BG> an ™ for which I don't have the slightest idea how it sounds.

BF>> And if you didn't know, Bj”rn means Bear (what a name to have, eh)

BG> Good name. Especially if your a large man.

Only in the forward direction.

BG> Say! Sometimes back we discussed DVD creation with your MyDVD program.
BG> You were unable to set chapter points in it. If your still using the
BG> program, maybe you are eligible for the Sonic DVDiT Ver 5 upgrade.
BG> I did the upgrade and it is still not that great, but many steps beyond
BG> MyDVD. I find it easier to use and much less picky than DVD-Lab, the
BG> full featured program I use normally.

My graphic board that used MyDVD broke and the new used Studio8 but I haven't
used that yet.
Now I'm waiting for, think it was Panasonic, to release their new DVD burner with a
hard drive and two TV-tuners and then I can copy my VHS video to the hard drive
and then burn a DVD. This should come out now in August.
For normal editing of video from the camera I use Studio 8 and then burn it to a DVD.
