Hi!
MP>GEORGE ELTING was thinking about Now that I've.... and keyed into
MP>cyberspace:
MP>GE>CC>I would be intrested in chatting with you if that is ok. I have
MP>GE>CC>ADD and I was wondering I am having a hard time trying to get
MP>GE>CC>onto disability because I am physically capiable of working yet
MP>GE>CC>some days as you know probably very your mind can't concerate
MP>GE>CC>and an employer wouldn't put up with it cuz he can just as
MP>GE>CC>easily find someone to replace you who can do the job quicker
MP>GE>CC>than us (People with ADD & ADH) Plus the discrimation that we
MP>GE>CC>go through just because ours is not seen like someone who has
MP>GE>CC>downsydrome. We (People with ADD & ADH) are told we are trying
MP>GE>CC>to get a free ride and were faking it and stupid ingornant
MP>GE>thoughts like that.
MP>GE> Actually, I don't think you need to go on disability, but you do
MP>GE>need to learn to overcome AD(H)D with the tools at hand. Most
MP>GE>reputable psychiatrists will help you with it. And sometimes meds
MP>GE>help, but learning the tricks to overcome it are most helpful.
MP>Learning how to use those "tricks" is far easier with meds, and more
MP>effective.
Meds are good, disability as a life style is not... My son is using Rit
to help him cope, I grew up without the help of meds...
